The on-campus Mangroves exhibition which opened to the public for a month last year is now going around the schools in Macao! It started at the International School of Macao (October 25-November 5) followed by Yeut Wah College (November 8-19). Several other local schools are already booked from December 2021 to March 2022. This event, in line with the university’s commitment to addressing the SDGs, is part of the project “Wetlands as Nature-based solutions for Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation” which commenced last summer. Through scientific display boards, photographs, films, and interactive tank models, this exhibition showcases the local mangroves ecosystem that makes up an essential part of Macao’s natural environment. The exhibition, complemented by public talks and guided field visits to the local mangroves sites, aims to raise community awareness and curiosity, and encourage the students and other member of the local community to cherish this valuable habitat.
