Description: Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral fellow to work under the project funded by the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) entitled “PlastiFish: Methods, effects and risk analysis of microplastics in fish production”. The candidate is expected to devote full-time to experimental research and laboratory work under the context of this project.

Qualifications requiredWe are looking for a candidate with a solid background in Biology. Previous experience in molecular biology, data analysis, and fish models will be valued. This position requires a PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Environmental Science or related fields and a good publication track record in the area. Candidates should be fluent in English and preferably also Chinese.

Duties:
  • Perform independent experiments on the effects of microplastics and adsorbed pollutants effects on fish, data collection and analysis;
  • Report results in conferences and scientific publications;
  • Participate in other activities of the lab, such as science promotion events or internal meetings.
Conditions: 40 hours per week, schedule to be agreed with the project coordinator, Dr Sara Cardoso. Salary, 22.000,00 MOP/month. Starting date, as soon as possible. Maximum duration 12 months (non-renewable under this project).

Selection criteria: Publications in scientific journals and presentations in international scientific meetings in the area of Biology: 40%; Academic background: 40%; Interview and motivation letter: 20%.
